It’s an exciting time as we head into the new year. Over the last year I’ve been honored to have you with me as I grow my business a little more each day. I hope you’ve had an amazing year and continue to do so in 2012.
Here’s a look back at the best blog posts for each month of 2011:

Sometimes I like to rant.
Today I shall rant about expensive coaching programs.
I currently have a client who’s spent $3000 on a coaching program that was meant to teach her how to launch her business and her book. She came to me looking for a website as part of the process she learned.
Now the part of this that’s a rant is that my client isn’t any better off having spent that $3000 than she would be had she come to me directly and paid $500 for the site design.
I believe she was sold dreams. Read More→

Hey there!
One of the things I often teach in my courses and coaching is that it doesn’t have to be perfect to make you money. This is true for graphics too.
Some of my first graphics were VERY UGLY yet they still did the trick!
So – I’ve got a little challenge for you and a fun contest… Read More→

How would you feel if that actually happened??
I personally know MANY people this has happened to in the last month.
Examples:1. The client who’s website suddenly dissapeared without explaination or reason. The hosting company just said it wasn’t there.
2. The bunch of mastermind member’s who’s hosting company had a big glitch and multiple people lost partial and full websites.
3. The colleague who ended up getting hacked and had some very inappropriate links placed on every page of their website and blog.
Many of them are now asking a question they wish they’d asked sooner: “How do I backup my website?” Read More→

businesses, logically, running a business with that is only ‘relevant’ to only a few months out of the year seems like financial suicide. Despite this, seasonal businesses remain one of the most popular start-ups. I should know; I work for one! And, while challenging, I thoroughly enjoy figuring out how to market our artificial Christmas trees in the middle of sweltering August heat. Here are some marketing tactics I live by during the off-season:

I bet one of the reasons you started your list was to find a way to have more freedom in your business.
Freedom to take a day off when you want or need. Freedom to make more money than you could at a ‘job’. Most of all the freedom to be who you really are and to make a difference in the lives of others.
It’s hard to do that if no one can hear (or read) what you have to say.
That’s why email marketing is such an integral part of building a successful business and marketing it on the internet. More than anything you need a way to reach a lot of people in a little time if you want to Read More→

Hey there. This is the first post in a five post series titled ‘Top Five Email Marketing Myths’. We’re counting down, starting with #5 –
“If I email too much, they’ll unsubscribe!”
This is so untrue! You can email your list a lot and have a list that is happy as a pig in you know what.
However, let me make this clear: You WILL get unsubscribes, it’s normal and a natural part of the email process.
Now there’s a trick to this, well it’s not so much a trick as it is common sense. Here is how to email your list as often as you want without having to worry about ticking them off: Read More→

Just like riding a roller coaster, working from home is not for the faint of heart. It literally is an emotional roller coaster that will leave you wondering if you really are able to achieve any success.
Surprised?
Not everyone will tell you what I just did. Many online marketers are out to sell you on how easy, fun, stress-free, profitable and just plain amazing working from home is…along with an ebook on how to do it all. Read More→

Whenever I talk to a friend or new person about running my own business out of my home the reply is most often something about how they just couldn’t do the same because the wouldn’t be productive.
Well let me tell you, I suck at to-do lists, weekly planning, schedules or anything to help me run my business productively. Really, I do. Yet, I’m on track to double my income again this year (did it last year).
That’s not to say I’m not working on learning how to write a productive to-do list that gets me organized and in total control of my business.
So, when I saw Nicole Dean’s post and challenge over on her blog it was just the push I needed to invest the time to create a plan to organize my tasks, for real. Read More→

If you’ve been alive for any significant amount of time you’ll have already come to realize that we never stop changing, growing and learning. I’m a big believer that ‘nurture’ has a greater effect on our personalities than ‘nature’ does. That’s why I think the jobs we choose Read More→

I don’t know about you but I really wish when Christmas rolls around that the people in my life would ‘get’ what I do for a living so they can buy me some gifts I can use to make more money ![]()
You know, gifts just for fun are cool and all but there’s something about a free business tool that gets me all geeked! I know you know what I mean, right?
Well, if you’re looking for some ideas on great tools you could use for your business on any budget, check out the lists below. I might just copy/paste some of these onto a Christmas Wish List I’ll randomly leave around the house. Or maybe add this blog post to my email signature with a big HINT, HINT in front of it, lol. I look forward to blogging in 2012 and hearing from you. All the best and Happy New Year!
