A big problem I’ve seen after working with and talking to hundreds of business owners online is a lot of people really don’t understand how to get better traffic, and lots of it.
Is this you?
Do you have a website up, a blog on the go but your traffic is at a standstill?
If your traffic is not consistently growing as a result of a focused effort then you could use some help. The good news is it’s not nearly as hard as it seems!
Let’s look at it like this:
What if you were literally DYING of thirst. You’d spend days upon days wandering around the desert and finally someone just plops down out of nowhere with a helicopter and asks you where you want to go.
Do you:
A) Tell them to take you to and open field so you can start digging for water.
OR
B) Tell them to take you to the biggest, cleanest, easiest to find free flowing RIVER filled with the freshest water you can drink by the bucketful!
You’d be crazy not to choose B, right?
Ok, so we know B is the right answer.
Let’s relate that to the internet.
Your website is DYING without traffic. Sales won’t happen, your list won’t grow and you just won’t be profitable if no one (or almost no one) is visiting your website!
So where do you go to find traffic? Is now the time to start digging wells hoping you’ll hit a whole lot of water underground OR is now the time to just draw from the flowing river of traffic that you know EXACTLY where to find? Yep you know I’m talkin’ bout Google.
According to Alexa.com Google.com is the #1 site on the internet. Yahoo is #2 and YouTube is #3.
There is no big trick to getting Google traffic.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Search engines love content –> Add lots and lots of GREAT content to your site
2. Search engines want to deliver what people are looking for –> Find that out right here: http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com
You can find out what people are looking for by going to a database that has collected the results of millions and millions of searches and compiled it into a format that we can use to get traffic to our websites.
Here’s something else to consider:
Maybe you’re trying to pull traffic from places like YouTube, Twitter, Article Directories, Joint Ventures, etc. These are great ways to get traffic BUT you want to first start with the best and the easiest. Maybe you’re not even actively working on building traffic because you’re hoping eventually it will find you.
Ask yourself this question: What are people THINKING when they go to each of these sites?
Let’s see
Google – Take me to a website that answers my question or solves my problem
YouTube – Take me to a video that entertains me or answers my question
Twitter – Tell me what you’re doing
Article Directories – Take me to an article that answers my question or solves my problem
Joint Ventures – This could be a lot of questions!
Blind Luck – …………………………………………….
Doesn’t Google look like a GREAT place to be when people are looking to find something?
The bottom line is this: Google gets the most traffic of ANY site on the internet. Before you start digging wells and working really hard go to the SOURCE and drink. When you’ve had your fill then you’re ready to move on to other sources of traffic.
psssst….
Now you know what you need to do but you might be wondering where in the world you’ll get all the content you’ll need to really pull traffic? I have three resources I personally use and highly recommend:
Easy PLR by Nicole Dean
All Private Label Content by Alice Seba & Mila Sidman
PLR.me by Ronnie Nijmeh

Angela,
This is a great post. I finally started to understand search engine optimization and the potential from using researched keyword phrases. It’s amazing what Google can do. I need to get more content on my site because I see how it could help. I don’t know why it’s easier for me to add content to my blog and not my website but I’m working on it.
As always, thanks for your great advice and for explaning it in such a simple way.
Angie so glad you liked the post! I did an interview today with Ronnie from PLR.me and we talked about using PLR to really drive traffic to your site so I definitely recommend keeping an eye out for that coming in a week or so!
