Today’s free tool is the completely free Audacity. It’s a free audio recording and editing program for adding audio to websites. If you like to use audio on your websites then this is a great way to record or edit your audio before it goes on to the next stage.

I love using audio, but I find that a lot of times I need to do something over and over before I’m happy with it. I use Audio Acrobat for my audio but their online recorder is not great (though audio acrobat is great for recording conference calls!). First I use Audacity to get it just the way I want it and then upload it to Audio Acrobat.

Another great feature of using Audacity is the editing part because if I’m in the middle of a long message and I mess it up, I can just continue on and then edit out the messed up part later. This way I don’t have to go back in and record the whole thing over again.

If you are thinking about hosting or already host your own Talk Radio show another use for Audacity is to do the editing of your show there. As a virtual assisstant, I have done this for clients. The program allows you to take the audio segments and combine them all together for one fluid talk show.
