Over the last few years I’ve worked with Michelle Kulp in her online marketing – doing website updates, helping her with email marketing and setting up payment links and salespages for her products.
Website Designer Hostage Situation
When Michelle and I first met she had been working with a website designer who was literally trying to ‘hold her website hostage‘ by creating something only he understood! He didn’t want anyone else editing the website and he made it very clear that I could mess things up if I touched it and he wouldn’t be held responsible if I did.
Now, I’m no newbie to website editing. I’ve been editing my own websites since 1999. What happened here was an unethical website designer intentionally made it very difficult if not impossible for someone else to edit the site so HE was guaranteed a job.
Solution? A Wordpress BlogSite
Michelle, being the smart lady she is, decided to stick with me and we finally made the leap to upgrading her website to Wordpress so she can edit it all on her own.
