Today is Day 4 of the Super Affiliate Challenge (click that link if you want to see what it’s all about).
I’m reviewing another Chapter from the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner and getting more pumped about ramping up my affiliate marketing. This chapter covers Finding Your Niche.
I must admit I’m having a bit of a tough time keeping up with doing this every day but I will push through!
This challenge is not just for me though, I’d love to hear your comments about what you’ve been up to and if you’re working on your affiliate marketing efforts! Let me know by posting a comment below.
Also I want to mention that my own action plans nowhere near cover everything that’s in each section of the book, I’m simply trying to look for holes in my own affiliate marketing and plug them up as I go along.
You’ll also notice that I’m not going to give a lot of detail about what I did for each ACTION TAKEN. That’s because I want to completely respect the work itself and not give away any information that’s meant to be bought when you purchase the book. I will be briefly touching on what the book covers but if you want specifics and details then make sure you grab up the Super Affiliate Handbook and join in the Challenge.

This chapter is about finding a niche. I already have one well defined here at Marketers Mojo.
My goal is to help new and established internet business owners figure out a way to build a business that supports their life and allows them to have true freedom, flexibility and fun!
So my niche is internet marketers who want to love their life and their business.
One of the key points about choosing a niche is that you need to have interest there. Don’t just pick something because you think it will bring you the most website traffic – if you don’t have genuine interest then you’ll have a hard time doing the work needed to be successful.
The book also covers some great points on how to quickly become an expert. You don’t need to know everything about your chosen niche to make profits as an affiliate marketer.
So…. if you are interested in affiliate marketing and haven’t chosen your niche yet don’t be discouraged. Even if you’re not an ‘expert’ in any one topic, there are certainly ways to build your expertise while building your business. Rosalind shares all the details on how to do that in the Super Affiliate Handbook.
Choosing a niche wouldn’t be complete with research.
I’ve talked about keyword research many times in the past. You can see some of my posts here:

But that’s not all the research you need to do when setting up your affiliate marketing efforts the right way. Think search engines, competition, stats and more.
Ok. Back to the book. Rosalind recommends Wordtracker. Wordtracker is a keyword program I also use but I usually use the free version. The paid version is also excellent. There are a lot of keyword tools out there both free and paid. It’s not quite as important WHAT you use as it is to make sure you DO your keyword research.
ACTION TAKEN
I’ve already done a lot of research for my business and I am certainly immersed in the world of internet marketing. I did decide to take about an hour today and did more research.
In the handbook, there are two types of search engine listings discussed – Paid and Organic.
For my own efforts and business I choose not to do Paid Advertising. I prefer the free methods of getting traffic to my site so I won’t really be following the advice in the handbook as it relates to pay per click (Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing).
So that’s it for today! Phew, we’re getting busier here.
Do you have a niche for your business? What is it? Share it here or post so we can brainstorm together!

I fell into my main niche that people know me for. It just happened. I got lucky and I don’t recommend falling into a niche.
When I was planning review sites this summer I did a lot of research before choosing one. I researched keywords, products to promote, competition, the affiliate programs available and so forth.
I find the research and development aspect of new websites to be the most satisfying for me.
