Nell thanks so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it!

Yes I agree with you that there are definitely other ways to get ranked if you don't constantly add content. I guess I just get frustrated when clients want 5 pages and call it a day. I always make sure to add my input and suggestions when that's the case and find the best way to get traffic that fits with the client.

Of course some sites don't need hundreds of pages like you suggested so that's a great point.

I do agree with you that content is very important. Good quality content. But I'm actually in a different frame of mind now that you need a monstrous website in order to keep ranked in the SE's. I think article marketing and building good quality incoming links is just as important.

I have a friend who created a review website (kind of like my plr site) a few years ago, added her reviews, and then spend the rest of that time article marketing. Yes, she has added new reviews in that time, and blogged here and there, but she is making 5 figures a month (on the high end of that 5 figures) with a small content site.

NOW, if you're relying on adsense to fuel your income, then I do believe you need a bigger site. The more pages you have, the more adsense you have, the more chances your links will get clicked.

Just my two cents on tons of content. Now, obviously if you have a blog, you'll need lots of ongoing good quality content. That just a given.
