Today is Day 9 of the Super Affiliate Challenge (click that link if you want to see what it’s all about).

I’m reviewing another Chapter from the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner and getting more pumped about ramping up my affiliate marketing. This chapter covers Manage Your Business.

The chapter we’re covering today is important, really important.

Last year I hired a bookkeeper for my business and honestly it was the worst thing I could have done for my business!

No, I didn’t have a terrible bookkeeper. It’s just that you really need to know where the money is coming in and going too when you run an affiliate marketing or internet business. When I hired my bookkeeper I let her handle it and I got the reports about a week after the last month ended.

So I effectively didn’t know until six weeks after the first of the month what had happened in my business for that month. That’s just not good tracking.

As you can probably guess today’s chapter is about making sure you’re tracking and monitoring your business on a very regular basis.

ACTION TAKEN

Woot! I got a lot done today and I’m pretty proud of myself.

  • First thing I did was organize my DOT (Do One Thing) program with task lists I can quickly grab for each day of the week.

    • I really like this program and I got it from Scott Tousignant of Fat Loss Quickie. You can Google DOT by jointwinwin to see if you can download the program also.

    Here’s a screenshot of the program. Kind of reminds me of some techy type control panel. Business control central:

  • Second – I set up some major spreadsheet action.

    • Now I am ready to track all my affiliate, products and client activity including clicks, sales, conversions and visitor value.

    It feels really great because now I will be able to see at a glance which affiliate programs are producing the best return on my investment of either time or money. Then, I can quickly see what I need to keep doing and what is wasting my time.
