Put Down That Internet Marketing Product!!

Think you need just one more internet marketing product to succeed in your online business?

Think again.

You don’t.

You don’t need anything else.

You don’t need another website. You don’t need another course. You don’t need another coach. You don’t need another ebook.

For a long time I thought I needed to buy, buy, buy.

The next course was going to help me figure it all out. The next ebook was going to make me rich.

Seriously.

Last night I was reading The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (yes, still) and one of the simpliest truths was that successful people do what other people are not willing to do. It’s not amazing work. It’s not hard to figure out.

Most people are just too busy jumping from marketing tactic to marketing tactic, coach to coach, strategy to strategy to figure anything out or stick with any one thing.

I know it’s so tempting to look for the quickest fix. The easiest way to make lots of money online. I’ve done it and it took me a long time to get out of that mindset.

Now don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with buying internet marketing products or coaching if you have a clear vision and goal and will use it right away. It’s not cool to buy product after product looking for the quick fix – because there just isn’t one.

And of course there are many internet marketing ‘tools’ (one of my favorites being Roboform) that I highly recommend because they help save time and money. Again, it’s a matter of being careful about what you buy and making sure you will actually use it.

The other day I read a blog post by Jimmy D.Brown which has to be the best internet marketing blog post ever – check it out and tell me what you think. His post inspired this one so it’s really more of the same along with an offer of his coaching. (that is not an affiliate link by the way)

Something I’ve been doing lately, and really over the last six months or so is cutting stuff out of my business. I’ve been focusing, cutting and clarifying. Basically keeping it simple.

Now, here’s my Napkin Business Plan:

That’s it. It’s a simple business plan, one that I can follow every day. One that allows me to really focus on doing one thing really, really well.

My goal is to share everything I learn right here at Marketers Mojo. I never proclaim to have it all figured out. But I’ll tell you my goof ups, my successes and my big time failures so you can learn along with me.

Because nobody really wants to be run and overrun by their business.
