Blog Statistics – October 2008

Here are the blog traffic statistics for October 1st through 31st, 2008.

I’m very happy with the results from last month to this month. Obviously I smoked the number of visitors from September because I only started posting on the blog on September 19th.

The screenshot above is from Google Analytics (which I definitely recommend). You’ll notice the green line below the blue. The green is last month’s traffic and the blog is this month’s (October). I love this feature because you can see at one glance if you’ve got any trends going month after month once your traffic gets more stable.

The spikes you see above are the days I submitted a post to Digg and Stumbleupon. Stumbleupon usually sends me about 100-140 visitors in a day when a post is added.

What I Did

Here is what I did in October to promote the blog:

  • Tried to post a minimum of 1 and up to 3 times per day on the blog
  • Added a lot of video content
  • Used Traffic Geyser to do video marketing drawing some traffic back to the blog.
  • Linked from Twitter fairly often
  • Linked in my signature on Mom Masterminds
  • Put the link in my outgoing email (gmail) signature
  • Let my email subscribers know of any good posts and my Teleseminar Mojo coaching

What Do I Do Now:

So you might be thinking “ok, great, lots of data – now what will she DO with that?”. This is the part where we make more money from what we’ve already got. Yes I had over 1,000 visitors to new site in October and what they did on the site is going to tell me something.

Here’s what I see from the stats and what my action steps could be:

- People like posts on email services or email management.
Action Step: write more posts on this topic. Schedule coaching program or create product on topic (with more research of course).

- Stumbleupon works.
Action Step: Stumble and Digg every good article.
