Wow, hosting my own website wouldn't even occur to me. You'd really have to be a geek with nothing else to do and a bunch of money.
I have enough challenges figuring out stuff like optimizing WP plugins, lol.
I think its not impossible.. cause if u can afford a dedicated machine for all need of a webserver then you could host ur own site in ur machine…
For most people it's definitely not worth it Emily when you can get reliable web hosting so cheap these days. I certainly wouldn't attempt it myself either!

I think hosting own site in own computer is hard to afford because it costs lot.
