Yesterday I presented to a local networking group called WINGS.
My presentation was about Blogging For Business.
This is the same networking group I mentioned in a previous post.
I love to get out, away from the computer and just listen and learn from other business owners. In another post I’ll really get into the benefits I’ve felt from just getting out and talking face to face with other, varied business women.
Here’s my presentation:
Blogging For Business Presentation Benefits:
Today I wanted to mention the merits of getting out there and presenting locally. To me, there were quite a few benefits of doing a local presentation. Here they are:
- Gained Confidence: Every time I present in person I gain more confidence. On the internet there is advice and marketing tips everywhere. Offline it is more difficult to find someone who really knows and understands internet marketing. I had people in the room who didn’t understand what a blog was – it was a great feeling to help them learn more about it and how it could be helpful to their business.
- Credibility: I have been going to this particular networking group for a long time but this is only the second time I’ve presented. By putting myself in front of the group and sharing my knowledge freely I’ve gained more credibility as an expert on my topic and in my field.
- Business: There was more than one person interested in hiring me to do a blogsite design for them as a result of my presentation.
- Referrals: One of the biggest goals of the networking group is to help other women in business by passing on referrals. There is a web designer in the group who said to me she’d be happy to pass on referrals of blog design clients as she gets them as a result of hearing my presentation and understanding more about what I do.
So that’s a little update on what I’ve been up to lately. Have you ever done any local business presentations? Would you like to? Got any tips? Ideas? Comments?
I’d love to hear from you!
