When I created my first website I did it from ‘scratch’. That means I hand-coded every line of the site in HTML coding. It was time-consuming, pain-steaking and some times down right frustrating.
Many years have passed and these days getting your website up is NOT the hard part. WordPress makes it very easy to get a site up in a matter of minutes (I timed myself one day and had a site up and ready to post to in 10 minutes!)
Sure there are still older, more costly and more complicated ways of buidling a website but why bother when wordpress is ALL you need?
Here are 7 Reasons Why WordPress is Best:
1. Install in MINUTES – literally your website can be up in it’s most basic format in a matter of minutes. This involves using a great host like Bluehost and they’re three-click installation.
2. It’s FREE – Oh yea, you don’t pay a cent for this highly advanced website and blog software. Cool or what?!
3.It’s a Website – If you want just a website wordpress can be that.
4.It’s a Blog – If you want just a blog wordpress also can be that. OR if you want a wordpress and blog combined you can do that too.
5.It’s Got RSS – If you’re not familiar with RSS the most important thing for you to understand here is this: By setting up your site or blog with RSS you allow people to ‘subscribe’ to your content and get updated automatically whenever you add something new.
6. It’s Extremely Flexible – There are thousands upon thousands of add-ons called ‘plugins’ that you can get for WordPress and make it do just about anything you can dream of. From stopping spam to adding audio to automatically updating your site and more.
7.It’s Easily Customized – Again, there are thousands of wordpress ‘themes’ available that allow you to create a very customized look without paying thousands for a completely custom site.
So there you have seven reasons why WordPress just plain rocks for websites, blogs or both. If you want some examples of what else it can do and if you’re ready to learn how to set up your own or your clients sites then check out the coaching program here:

Couldn’t agree with you more – I absolutely love WordPress! I remember when I first switched from Blogger to WordPress and how I was so confused and almost gave up on it. I’m so glad that I had some good people cheering me on and that I didn’t make the mistake of giving it up and just depending on Blogger. That was several years ago and now WP is even easier! In fact, I’m dying to get my one site that is not on WP moved over to it and I can’t wait until it’s there – it’s gonna be so cool! The hold up is mostly getting my email acct dealt with.

OMG – I love wordpress! I went from a technophobe who was held hostage by her web designer for every little update (i.e. cobweb) to a wordpress diva and I’m completely easy with editing, adding pages, adding posts, adding images, video, audio – it’s all so easy.
Oh, if you look at my main site – http://artists-edge.com – that’s wordpress. If you look at my blog http://artists-edge.com/blog – that’s wordpress too….
BTW – I didn’t self install – I hired someone for about 1/3rd of what it cost to put up my html website to do the install and customization. And then I ran with it.

Got to love wordpress. Easy to use and high quality. Of course you might get hacked sometimes because it’s a popular cms/blog. Hackers seems to like popular systems. But I have only been hacked one time, because sometimes I’m to lazy and forget to update regularly.
I have heard so much about wordpress and am eager to try and move my current website over to wordpress. I am always looking to learn new things and can’t wait to begin changing over. Thank you for the info.

Hey Sundra thanks for the comment! I certainly don’t know what I’d do without my wordpress websites – they put food on the table and help me make a difference in other people’s lives, just awesome.
