Internet Article Writing Quickly

Last week I asked you to join me on the Ezine Articles HAHD Challenge where you must write 100 articles in 100 days in order to qualify and win your very own ‘swag package’ from the article marketing site.

Some of you expressed concern over how it will be difficult to write so many articles in such a short time.

While I won’t lie to you and say that it’s a piece of cake, today I have a number of tips that are going to help you do internet article writing quickly AND get results that can last for years and years. Sound good? Then keep reading!

The first thing you want to do when writing articles is to use what you’ve got. You’ll be amazed and surprised and pleased to realize just how many original articles you have on your computer and in other places just wasting away.

Here are a few tips to pull internet articles from places you never realized you could:

1. Your Emails – This is just a complete goldmine of article topics and content. How many times over the last two to five years have you sat down and feverishly typed up a detailed reply email to a client, customer, potential customer or website visitor? This is content that can be quickly and easily turned into a great and relevant article – use it! If you use a program like Gmail you can search for specific topics or you can just go through your entire email history searching for gems (my own gmail account has every single email I’ve even sent stored since the day I signed up).

2. Your Presentations – Got some powerpoint presentations just a sittin on your computer? Oh my goodness then you’ve got articles! In many case every slide can be easily turned into a high quality article. It doesn’t matter your presentation format either – be it visual, or point form, or detailed notes. Simply open up your presentation, pull out a page worth of content and get writing.

3. Your Blog Posts – If you’ve written blog posts or have articles on your own website why not let them do double duty and add them to an article directory such as Ezine Articles?

4. Your Products – Got products already created. This is a great source of content ideas. You can often pull a portion of your product out and turn it into an article or you can get plenty of topic ideas just by looking at your own products. Think of what questions potential customers will have, what problems they might be worried about and how your product helps solve their worries.

5. Forums, Twitter, Facebook – If you spend time on any networking sites and write to other people than you’ve likely got another hidden gem for written content. Your interactions on these sites is based on real human needs and so they are a great source of topic ideas and ready-made content. Obviously you should never use the replies of others without their permission but anything you wrote yourself is fair game for a new article.

So there you have five ideas to help you pump out articles quickly. Before I leave you I want to give you another tip that’s helped me write this article in just 15 minutes and how you can do the same.

How to Write Internet Articles FAST

1. Decide on your topic and think about what you want to say in your head.
2. Get a Timer. This can be an egg timer from the dollar store or a computer timer.
3. Set Your Time to 20, 15 or even 10 minutes.
4. Write as fast as you can – don’t think, don’t research, don’t correct, just go as much as you can.
5. Edit and clean up.

The point of the exercise above is so you get your articles out fast. I find that if I don’t set a timer I can get distracted and waste time. If I’m focused on writing then it gets done, fast.

These content ideas and writing tips should help make writing an article per day not only possible but probable! I’d love to hear that you’ve completed this challenge along with me. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s sure going to be worth it.

So are you in? There’s still time – even if you don’t get 100 articles done every little bit helps!

Comments

  1. Great tips. I always forget to go back and look at emails I’ve sent.

Another idea is to take a comment you’ve submitted to on someone else’s blog and expand on it to turn it into an article.

Oh I like that one too and I hadn’t thought of it – thanks Susanne! And I know some blogs use Disqus which would make it even easier to track back your comments.

I’m going to use your tip plus my own to get a jump-start on the HAHD challenge. :)

Angela, good tips. I have saved all of my emails from the beginning of time too and I know I have written long detailed explanations to people who have asked me questions regarding my niche topics.

I will now need to spend a whole day to scan through them all. If it means I can come up with dozens more articles even quicker, it will even out the time though so that works.

It is true. We can find content in so many places we never thought about if we just spend some time to go over some of our stuff.

    Thanks for the tips!

      Hi Melanie,

Glad you enjoyed the tips! I know I’ll be scanning through my own emails as well. I’ve actually got two email accounts I can go through as I have one just for coaching which I know has fantastic replies I can use to turn into articles.

I think it’s also kinda fun – like a challenge and a tresure hunt to see how many good articles you can find ‘hidden’ in your stuff.

Hope you find lots of treasures!

Hi Angela, Great tips! I’m always looking for tricks to help make article writing easier.

EzineArticles just sent out a hint in their newsletter “Turn 1 Article Into a Set of 8″ whereby you create a “Top 7 Tips” article (there’s one down) and by expanding on each ‘tip’, create 7 more articles.

I’ve used this before and it has helped me produce a series of articles without having to struggle about what to write about.

      Hi Jen and thanks!

Yes I read that article on ezine articles too and enjoyed it. I am sure I have a bunch of articles I can go back and expand on too. Sometimes I think I get overwhelmed with too many things to write about rather than not enough – sort of a reverse writers block, lol.

Hi Angela ~ and thank you so much for these tips! I especially liked the part where you set the timer and just go for it . . . that would seem to put one into “creative mode” where wisdom can just flow through without being judged or censored. Brilliant idea!

    Blessings,
    Goldie

      Hi Goldie!

Thanks for the comment and I’m glad you like the tips.

I tell ya the timer has been a huge tool for me. If I don’t set it a good article can take me an hour. If I do then 15 minutes and I’ve got a good 500-600 word article no problem.

I hope you’ll try it and come back and let me know how it goes ;)

      A
