Case Study: Traffic Geyser
Purpose: To get traffic and leads to AffiliateCommotion.com
If you’ve been reading my posts on the Affiliate Incubator seminar you’ll know that I listened to both Frank Sousa and Mike Koenigs, co-owners of Traffic Geyser, speak at the seminar. After listening to Mike talk about how fabulous the program is I decided to try this out for myself and see how quickly I can get top rankings in Google using Traffic Geyser and video.
Over the next few days I’ll be posting the case study as I go along and test out this new program:

I have to say so far I am very impressed with the quality of the training resources available to Traffic Geyser users. I’ve never seen a program that so easily walks it’s user through the program and it’s uses. Very few programs give you such easy to use, step by step instructions on how to best use their program.
Usually I’m one to just jump into using a program but not this time. This time I decided I would really learn the program first to make sure I am using it properly. All the video tutorials available on how to use the program made me very confident in my ability to use this program to the best of it’s ability.
Step #1: Keyword Research
The first step before submitting ANY videos is to do your keyword research. The folks at Traffic Geyser suggested a program called Hexatracker which is a great keyword research program. Other programs I use very often for keyword research are:
Wordtracker Free Keyword Tool
Google Adwords Keyword Tool
SEO Book Free Keyword Tool
I was able to create a process for myself on keyword research to use for submitting videos. The fun thing is that one I have my ‘keyword form’ set up I can use it not only for video but also for blog posts, website pages, articles, videos, and where ever else keywords are important (which is just about everywhere).
Step #2: Sign Up For Video Sites
Now, my next step before I can do any video submissions is to sign up for the 25 video accounts, 14 podcast accounts and various others in order to get the most out of my submissions. This is one of the most time consuming and annoying parts but Traffic Geyser even makes this much easier by offering to sell you a google account that is pre-setup and ready to go.
I decided to set my accounts up myself and used my handy Roboform submission and forms tool. From reading on the forums I heard that it could take about 2-3 hours to set up all the accounts. I set mine up in less than 1 hour using Roboform. So I would definitely recommend Roboform to anyone working on Traffic Geyser for clients because it will save you a ton of time.
Step #3 – Create and Upload Video
I created my video using Camtasia screen recording software. For this first video I basically made a 2 minute video letting people know about the free one hour video I’m giving away on my website at AffiliateCommotion.com.
It was easy to upload the video and store it in an area where you can create specific folders for different projects (which is nice, rather than dumping all the files in one spot).
One thing that’s really neat about Traffic Geyser is that you don’t need to have Camtasia or even a video camera to create video for the internet. The program has a set up where you can put together a series of photos or images and then use their call-in number to record an audio. This all gets put together to create a video that you can then submit to 30+ websites – pretty cool!
Step #4 – Submit Video
So I was a little nervous about sending my video out into cyberspace (though I don’t know why since I have done video before) but it was pretty easy to do.
The first step was to click ‘Submit Media’ and I got the following choices:

I left off the podcasting for now because I just want to get used to using the system.
The next thing I had to do was fill in information about the video, Traffic Geyser made this real easy by offering suggestions as to what should go in most spots:

Step 3 of submissions was to choose the sites I wanted to submit to, pretty easy stuff:

In Step 4 I had to select some categories that different sites required you to enter (no need to show a screen shot of that) and then moving on to Step 5 I pushed the ‘Submit’ button!
That’s it for Day 1 of the Case Study.
I’ll be back to report on Day 2 where my videos ended up and what’s next.
